UF Health is seeking a skilled and patient‑centered Respiratory Therapist 3‑12 Reg | Adult & Pediatrics | Full Time | Gainesville to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team in Gainesville, Florida. As part of a leading academic health center committed to high‑quality care, innovative research, and outstanding education, you will provide advanced respiratory care to a diverse population of adult and pediatric patients in an acute‑care hospital environment.

In this role, you will perform comprehensive respiratory assessments, develop and implement individualized respiratory care plans, and deliver a full range of therapeutic interventions. You will manage and monitor oxygen therapy, set up and adjust invasive and non‑invasive ventilators, perform ventilator weaning, and provide airway management and suctioning in collaboration with the clinical team. You will administer aerosolized medications, perform chest physiotherapy and bronchial hygiene techniques, and obtain and analyze arterial blood gases to support clinical decision‑making. You will participate in emergency response situations, including Code Blue and rapid response calls, providing life‑supporting respiratory interventions as part of an interdisciplinary team. Care of pediatric and adult patients will include attention to age‑specific needs, close monitoring of respiratory status, and timely communication of changes in condition to physicians and nurses. You will utilize electronic health records to document assessments, therapies, patient responses, and education in a clear and timely manner. Working within UF Health’s collaborative and inclusive culture, you will partner closely with physicians, nurses, and other allied health professionals to deliver evidence‑based, patient‑centered respiratory care. You will educate patients and families on disease processes, inhaler and device techniques, home oxygen and equipment use, and strategies to optimize lung function and prevent readmissions. You will follow strict infection prevention and equipment disinfection standards, ensuring a safe environment for patients and staff. As an integral member of an academic medical center, you will have opportunities to support clinical education for students, participate in performance improvement initiatives, and contribute to the implementation of new protocols and technologies in respiratory care. This full‑time, on‑site position requires flexibility to work 12‑hour shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed to support 24/7 operations.
